A motorcyclist who died after his bike collided with a tractor has been named.

Jamie Boyd, 30, from Dailly in South Ayrshire, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He had been riding a black Suzuki SV 650 motorbike when it collided with a yellow JCB tractor at Hamilton Bridge, near Dailly, at around 7.35am on Monday, July 11.

The road was closed for around six hours to allow for a collision investigation to be carried out.

The driver of the tractor was not injured in the incident.

Police enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference 0649 of July 11.
