A man was hospitalised after being “punched in the face” in a serious assault in Glasgow.
Police are appealing for information after the 28-year-old man was assaulted while walking along Gordon Street on December, 2, around 11pm.
After being punched in the side of the face by an unknown man, the victim kept walking and managed to make his way home.
The 28-year-old attended at Hairmyres Hospital several days later where he received treatment to a serious facial injury.
The incident was subsequently reported to police and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Detectives revealed that the suspect was in the company of another man at the time of the attack and are asking anyone with information to get in touch.
Detective constable John McMahon from Greater Glasgow CID said: “This appears to have been a completely random and unprovoked assault on the victim who has been left with a serious facial injury.
“The suspect was in the company of another man at the time of the attack and we are appealing to anyone who was in Glasgow City Centre around 11pm on Saturday, December 2, and witnessed what happened to please come forward.
“We would also urge any motorists with dash-cams to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance to the investigation.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1793 of Saturday, December 9, 2023.
