A man was attacked and robbed after being threatened with a blade on a residential street in North Ayrshire.
The 41-year-old was walking home in the Muir Drive area of Stevenston at around 12.30pm on Friday when the incident happened.
After he was threatened at knifepoint, two men and a woman assaulted him and stole his money, leaving him injured.
Police have released descriptions of the attackers and have urged anyone with any information to get in touch.
They would specifically like to speak to a woman who stopped and spoke to one of the suspects around the time of the assault.
The first suspect is described as a slim man in his late 20s, around 5ft 9in tall, with short dark hair and a tanned complexion. At the time of the incident he was wearing a full red tracksuit.
The second man is described as 5ft 5in tall, also in his late 20s with short brown hair. He was wearing a green baseball cap.
The female suspect is described as in her early 30s, around 5ft 2in tall, of slim build with dirty brown hair in a ponytail. She was wearing a white bubble jacket and skinny white jeans.
Detective constable Lee Duncan, of Saltcoats CID, said: “This man was attacked in broad daylight on his way home and has suffered injuries as a result of the incident.
“We are carrying out enquiries in the area and continue to appeal to anyone who was around Muir Drive on Friday afternoon.
“I am particularly keen for a female who stopped and spoke with one of the suspects around the time of the incident to contact police.
“I would also appeal to anyone who may have dashcam or home security footage that could assist with our investigation.
“Police can be contacted by calling 101 and quoting incident number 1476 of Friday, May 21. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
