A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in a street on Inverclyde.
Officers responded to a report of a man being stabbed on Roxburgh Street, Greenock, at around 7.45pm on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to the scene and a 44-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
Police confirmed that a 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident as enquiries continue.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to reports of a man having been stabbed on Roxburgh Street, Greenock, around 7.45pm on Saturday, 26 March, 2022.
“The 44-year-old man was taken to the in Glasgow by ambulance for treatment.
“A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
