A man was taken to hospital after being assaulted on a street in Greenock.
Police were called to the Greive Road area of the town at around 4pm on Monday after receiving reports of an assault.
Emergency services took a 43-year-old man to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with ‘serious’ injuries.
Hie current condition is unknown.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 4pm on Monday, October 31, to a report of an assault in the Grieve Road area of Greenock.
“A 43-year-old man sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries, and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow by ambulance.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
