A man has suffered serious facial injuries after being bitten by an XL Bully in South Lanarkshire.
Emergency services were called to an address at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, April 8, after a 32-year-old was attacked by a dog, which is understood to be an XL Bully.
He was taken to hospital for treatment to serious facial injuries.
Following the incident, a man was charged with offences in relation to the Dangerous Dogs Act. He will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
The dog has been seized.
A police spokesperson said: “Around 3.30pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 a 32-year-old man was bitten by a dog in Coronation Street, Carstairs.
“The man was taken to hospital where he received treatment for serious facial injuries.
“A man was subsequently charged with offences in relation to the Dangerous Dogs Act and is the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.”
