Man taken to hospital with facial injury after being attacked at bus stop on Western Road in Kilmarnock Google Maps

A man was taken to hospital after being assaulted at a bus stop in Kilmarnock on Tuesday night.

At around 7.30pm on October 3, a 33-year-old man was assaulted on Western Road, between the junctions with Ardgour Road and Knockinlaw Road in the town.

He was taken to Crosshouse Hospital after suffering a facial injury which required treatment.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers are working to establish the full circumstances.

Detective constable Gillian Wilson, of Kilmarnock Police Station, said: “We are appealing to any witnesses who may have seen a man on a blue and black bike in the area to come forward.

“The area was also busy with traffic on Tuesday evening so I would urge anyone who may have seen anything while passing or who may have dashcam footage to get in touch.“
