A man has been taken to hospital for treatment after a serious assault in Glasgow.

Officers attended Shettleston Road in the East End of the city around 8.30pm on Friday.

The road was shut for several hours between Killin Street and Culross Street with the council advising drivers to find an alternative route.

Police say enquiries are ongoing.
