A man has been taken to hospital following an attempted murder in North Ayrshire.
Emergency services were called after a man was assaulted in Greenhead Avenue, Stevenston, at around 11.59pm on Tuesday.
The 56-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with this attempted murder.
He is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.59pm on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, we were called to a report of a 56-year-old man seriously assaulted in Greenhead Avenue, Stevenston.
“Police and ambulance attended and he was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
“A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with this attempted murder. He is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
