A man has been taken to hospital and a road has been closed after a car ploughed into a tree in Irvine.
Officers were alerted to the crash on Towerlands Road around 1.35pm on Thursday.
The force confirmed that the road is closed between Springside and Dreghorn.
One man has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Towerlands Road in Irvine is closed between Springside and Dreghorn due to a serious road crash involving a car and a tree around 1.35pm on Thursday, September 26.
“One man has been taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.”
