A man has been taken to hospital after being injured in a “serious assault” in the East End of Glasgow.

Police were called to the Duke Street area around 11.25pm on Wednesday.

A 27-year-old man was taken to hospital with “serious but not life-threatening” injuries.

Enquiries into the incident are “ongoing” and police presence remained on the scene into Thursday morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.25pm on Wednesday, 28 February, 2024, police were called to the Duke Street area of Glasgow, following the serious assault of a 27-year-old man.

“The man was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
