Police are hunting for a suspect after a man was left in hospital following an early hours assault in North Ayrshire.

Around 12.50am on Sunday, June 4, an assault took place at a pub on Kilwinning’s Main Street.

The victim, a 36-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police are now searching for a suspect in connection with the assault.

He is described as being a white man, between 5ft 10in and 6ft tall.

At the time, he was wearing grey shorts and dark trainers with white soles, and had a tattoo on his left arm.

Detective sergeant Andrea Templeton said: “We are appealing for anyone in the area at the time who may have witnessed this to come forward.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 0267 of June 4, 2023. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
