Man taken to hospital after being struck by ambulance 

A 39-year-old man was struck on Corran Esplanade, Oban, at around 1.35am on Wednesday.

A man has been left in hospital after being struck by an ambulance in Oban.

Emergency services were called to Corran Esplanade, on the A85, shortly after 1.35am on Wednesday.

A 39-year-old man was taken to Lorn and Islands Hospital after being struck by an ambulance.

His current condition is unknown at this time.

Police confirmed that the road remains closed westbound while an investigation is carried out.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a collision involving an ambulance and a pedestrian at Corran Esplanade on the A85 in Oban shortly after 1.35am on Wednesday, 6 September.

“The 39-year-old male pedestrian was taken to Lorn and Islands Hospital in Oban for treatment. Nobody else was injured.

“The road remains closed westbound to allow for an investigation at the scene.”
