A man suffered a serious head injury after being attacked with a bottle at a bus stop in Glasgow.
The 48-year-old, who was standing at a stop on Cathedral Street, was injured in the unprovoked attack on Monday evening at around 7.40pm.
He attended Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.
Police said the suspect is described as white, in his mid-40s, with short, dark hair.
At the time of the attack, he was wearing a dark coloured jacket, a grey North Face hoodie, blue joggers, dark coloured trainers and glasses.
Following the incident, he left along a pathway leading towards the Townhead area.
Officers are keen to speak to any witnesses, and have urged a woman who was seen in the area to come forward, as she may have information regarding the attack.
Detective Constable Stephen Green said: “This was an unprovoked attack and enquiries are ongoing to trace the suspect.
“Our enquiries suggest the area was busy when the assault happened and we are keen to speak to members of the public on and around Cathedral Street at the time as they may have vital information to help with our investigation.
“We are asking anyone who can help, who knows the man described, or where he might be to get in touch.”
Anyone who can assist is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3163 of Tuesday, February 2, 2026, or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
