A man has been taken to hospital after suffering “serious facial injuries” after an attack involving a weapon by two men in Inverclyde.
Officers said a 51-year-old man was the subject of a “violent attack” by two men at around 1.50pm on Lansbury Street in Greenock on Friday, May 31.
The man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital to be treated for “serious facial injuries” after being assaulted with a weapon.
The first man involved is described as between 40 and 50 years old, heavy set, balding, and was wearing a green shirt and blue jeans.
The second man is described as having brown hair and a full beard and was wearing a grey top with a distinctive dark banner across the shoulders and grey tracksuit bottoms.
Police said a white Vauxhall van was in the area at the time of the assault.
Detective Constable Laura Sokolov said: “This was a violent attack and we are appealing for any information which could help us find the men responsible.
“If you were in Lansbury Street around 1.50pm on Friday afternoon and saw or heard anything at all suspicious please get in touch.
“We would be particularly keen to hear from anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage of the surrounding area which could be of significance to our enquiries.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2328 of Friday, May 31, 2024.
