A man suffered a leg injury after being assaulted and stabbed in Renfrewshire.

The attack took place on the street on Paisley’s Waverley Road on Tuesday night.

Police were called to the scene just after 9pm and found a 43-year-old man injured when they arrived.

The victim went to the Royal Alexandra Hospital the next day where he received treatment for an injury to his leg.

Officers are now investigating the incident as they look to trace two men in connection with the attack.

They are both described as white, in their mid-20s, of slim build with short dark hair and dark coloured clothing.

Detective inspector Ian Ross said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone with information to come forward.
