Man sought over attack after Celtic v Livingston match

A 74-year-old man was assaulted in Glasgow following the fixture in April last year.

Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to after a pensioner was attacked following a Celtic and Livingston match.

The assault happened at around 4.55pm on Saturday, April 6 last year, following the fixture at Celtic Park in Glasgow.

The 74-year-old man was walking along Gallowgate, near to its junction with Society Street, when he became involved in a physical altercation as he attempted to board a bus.

The elderly victim required hospital treatment following the attack.

Officers believe the man pictured will be able to help with their investigation.

Detective constable Gillian Alexander said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have any information, or who recognises the man in the image.

“He may have information which could be vital and assist our investigation, and I would ask anyone who recognises him to contact us.”
