A serial sex attacker groped a schoolgirl after falsely claiming she had a bug on her.

Kevin Uwaifo, 21, attacked the 17-year-old in Glasgow’s east end on January 16.

Uwaifo was jailed for 228 days last year after admitting a string of similar offences in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire.

He had been placed on a community payback order earlier that year for identical matters in Glasgow.

The court heard that Uwaifo approached his victims, who included a schoolgirl and a grandmother, and stated that they had a spider on their bodies.

Uwaifo went on to touch his targets on intimate areas of their bodies.

Uwaifo pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to two charges of sexual assault.

He also admitted charges of public indecency, exposing himself and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

The court heard that the schoolgirl got off a public bus when Uwaifo approached her from behind.

He told the girl: “Excuse me, you have a bug on your jacket.”

The girl turned around, and Uwaifo told her that it was a “massive bug”.

Prosecutor Ryan Watson said: “He put an open palm on her buttocks area over her clothing and groped her.

“He moved his hands from side to side on her buttocks area.”

The girl told her that she would remove the bug herself to stop Uwaifo’s actions.

The victim then fled the scene and ran into her school and reported what happened to her.

Uwaifo had previously performed a sex act near a 62-year-old woman at Westerton train station on January 15.

He also exposed himself to a 32-year-old woman at Kelvin Walkway earlier that day.

The court was told that Uwaifo was caught by police with two mobile phones, which contained videos of women with a focus on their buttocks.

Sentencing was deferred pending background reports until the end of the month by Sheriff Andrew McIntyre who continued Uwaifo’s remand in custody.
