A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash on the A745 in Dumfries and Galloway.

Emergency services were called to the crash, involving a red Ducati F848 motorcycle and a silver Skoda Octavia car, on the Dalbeattie to Castle Douglas road at around 4.10pm on Saturday.

The 71-year-old man, who was riding the motorcycle, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

The driver of the car did not require any medical treatment.

Police Scotland is urging anyone with information regarding the crash to come forward.

Sergeant David Kerr said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and we are appealing to the public for information.

“If you saw anything then please get in touch. We are also asking drivers to check dash-cam to see if there is something recorded that could help our investigation.

“Anyone who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2268 of April 5, 2025.”
