A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after an incident at a construction site in Glasgow city centre.

The 31-year-old was injured around 9pm on Tuesday at the site near the junction of Argyle Street and York Street.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. His injuries are severe but are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police Scotland said The Health and Safety Executive had been made aware.

The Health and Safety Executive has been contacted for comment.
