Man seriously injured after early morning attack in flat

A 21-year-old man has been left seriously injured as police appeal for information.

A man has been left seriously injured after being attacked in a flat in Renfrew.

The 21-year-old was assaulted at around 6am on Saturday within the flat on Dunlop Street.

Police were called to the incident and found the injured man a short time later on nearby Hairst Street.

Emergency services also attended and the man was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital where he is being treated for injuries to his body and hand.

Medical staff say his injuries are serious but not life threatening.

Detective Sergeant Karen Boyd of Paisley Mill Street said: “We don’t have descriptions of the suspect or suspects in this case, however, we are appealing for anyone who may have seen the injured man or anything suspicious in the area around that time to get in touch as any information could prove useful.”
