Man seriously assaulted in group disturbance at Dalbeattie park

Police are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted during a disturbance at a park in Dalbeattie.

Officers were called to Colliston Park around 10.40pm on Saturday following reports of an incident involving a group of people.

A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigations into how the man came to be injured are ongoing.

Constable Jordan Jamieson said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident and how the victim came about his injuries.

“This happened during the Dalbeattie Civic Day, so we’re aware the area was busy with a lot of people who may have witnessed what happened.

“We are appealing to anyone who saw anything which may be able to assist our investigation to contact us. In addition, anyone who has footage on their mobile phone which may have captured the disturbance is asked to get in touch.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 3894 of August 8, 2026. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
