Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was sexually assaulted on a train at Glasgow Central railway station.

The victim became separated from his friends when boarding the rear carriage of the 11.45pm Glasgow Central to Largs service on Friday, July 2.

He asked another man if he had seen them, to which the man then sexually assaulted him.

The attacker was described as white, in his early 20s, of a medium build and around 5ft 9in.

He also had curly blonde hair and a nose ring, and was wearing dark jeans and trainers.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to help with their investigation.”
