A man has been left seriously injured after he was attacked on a street in East Ayrshire.

Emergency services were called to St Marnock Place in Kilmarnock at around 4.40pm following reports of an assault.

A 45-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident and an investigation into the full circumstances is ongoing

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.40pm on Thursday, May 14, we received a report of an assault on St Marnock Place in Kilmarnock.

“Emergency services attended and a 45-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
