Man rushed to hospital with serious injuries after assault in Lanark as police launch appeal Google Maps

A man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following an attack in South Lanarkshire.

Detectives have launched an appeal for witnesses following the assault, which occurred at a property on Smyllum Road in Lanark on Tuesday morning.

A 29-year-old man was rushed to Wishaw General Hospital with serious injuries following the attack, however police confirmed his injuries are not life-threatening.

Detective Constable Murray McMillan, from Wishaw CID, said: “We’re appealing to anyone with information on this attack, or who saw anything suspicious in the Smyllum Road area on Tuesday morning, to please come forward.

“We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around that time, such as motorists heading to work or parents taking children to school.

“If you believe you can assist our enquiries, please call 101, quoting incident 0579 of September 20.

“Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
