A man suffered a head injury after being assaulted by two unknown attackers with a weapon in Clydebank.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the 37-year-old man was attacked by occupants of a small silver hatchback car in Whitecrook between 3am and 3.30am on Monday morning.
The incident occurred in the Wood Quadrant area of Whitecrook.
The two men in the car are described as approximately 6ft in height, of medium to heavy build and wearing dark clothing.
After attacking the man, they drove off towards Brown Avenue.
The man managed to seek the assistance of another motorist who took him to a local police station.
He was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he was treated for a head injury and has since been discharged.
Detective constable Ross Gemmell, Clydebank CID, said: “Although this attack happened in the early hours of the morning, I am sure that someone will have either seen or heard a disturbance in Wood Quadrant. I am keen to hear from anyone who may have information, including any dash-cam or doorbell footage, that could assist our investigation.
