A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash in Ayrshire.
Road policing officers were called to the A78 near Kilwinning after a crash involving a black Honda CBF125 motorbike at around 9.10pm on Wednesday.
Emergency services were called to the scene and took a 26-year-old man to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment.
His condition has been described as serious.
The road was closed while crash investigations were carried out and was reopened at around 10.45pm.
Sergeant Gordon Stewart, of Ayrshire Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
“I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to get in touch. Also anyone with relevant dash-cam footage is asked to contact police.
“Anyone with information should call 101, quoting incident number 3577 of February 22, 2023.”
