A man has been airlifted to hospital following an attack at a property in South Ayrshire.

Emergency services were called to the Park Road area of Girvan around 5.45pm on Wednesday evening following reports of a serious assault.

A 34-year-old man was taken by air ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Police confirmed a 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.45pm on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, police received a report of the serious assault of a 34-year-old man at a property in the Park Road area of Girvan. He was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

“A 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with further information on the incident is urged to contact police on 101, quoting incident 2635 of July 10. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spoksperson said: “We received a call at 5.40pm on Wednesday July 10 to attend an incident on Wreck Road, Girvan.

“We dispatched multiple resources to the scene including an air ambulance and a trauma team.

“One patient was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
