A man has been rushed to hospital following a serious assault in Glasgow on Saturday.
Police Scotland said the 48-year-old sustained a back injury following an assault at a footpath on Cowlairs Road in Springburn.
He was then taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
Police have urged witnesses to come forward.
Detective constable Katrina Keogh said: “A man has sustained a serious injury and it is imperative we trace whoever is responsible.
“I am appealing for anyone with information that may help our investigation to come forward.
“I am also keen to speak with anyone who witnessed this assault or has dash-cam footage that may assist us.”
