Man rushed to hospital after knife attack to his face

A man was rushed to hospital after suffering serious facial injuries during an assault in Ayr.

At around 6.30pm on Monday, February 8, a person wearing a green jacket attended a property on Campbell Court and attacked the 47-year-old victim with a bladed weapon.

The victim was taken to hospital by the Scottish Ambulance Service but was released following treatment.

Police Scotland are urging members of the public to come forward with information.

Detective Constable Janet Ferguson from Ayr CID said: “The victim has suffered a nasty wound to his face however we know little about the suspect who entered the property.

“They are described as wearing a green jacket however we do not know their gender or any other physical description of them.

“We’d ask anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour in the Campbell Court area on Monday evening, or anyone with private CCTV which may have captured a person attending the area wearing such clothing, to provide relevant information and footage to officers as soon as possible.”

Those with information are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2983 of February 8. Alternatively an anonymous report can be given to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
