A man has been rushed to hospital after being attacked by a dog walker carrying a weapon in Glasgow.

The 41-year-old was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment after the assault, which occurred on Tillycairn Drive around 10.15pm on Wednesday.

Police are now hunting for the suspect and have appealed to the public for information.

He is described as white, between 17 and 20 years of age, of slim build with a shaved head. He was wearing a blue top, dark jogging trousers and white and black trainers.

He was walking a light coloured French bulldog.

Detective Constable Gill Burns of Shettleston Police Office said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or noticed anything suspicious, to contact us.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 3572 of Wednesday,  November, 23. Alternatively, calls can be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
