A man remains in hospital after three people were attacked on a street in North Ayrshire.
Emergency services were called to High Street in Irvine following reports of a serious assault on a man at around 6pm on Tuesday.
A 43-year-old man was taken to hospital following the incident and remains in their care.
Police were also made aware of a 53-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman being attacked in the same area. The pair did not require treatment following the incident.
No arrests have been made and a police investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were made aware of a man having been seriously assaulted at Irvine High Street around 6pm on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
“The 43-year-old remains in hospital.
“We also received a report of an assault of a 53-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman on High Street, Irvine. There was no requirement for treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
