A man has been released after being arrested in connection with a rape on a street in Port Glasgow.
The 42-year-old woman was targeted in the town’s Barr’s Brae near to John Wood Street at around 3.30am on Sunday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed that a 44-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident on Monday, but has since been released.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
A spokesperson said: “Around 3.30am on Sunday, November 13, 2022, police received a report of a serious sexual assault in Barr’s Brae, near to John Wood Street, Port Glasgow.
“A 44-year-old man was arrested and released. Enquiries are ongoing into the incident.”
