A man who raped a woman twice shortly after she had given birth has been jailed for five years.
Cameron Manson, 31, from Sunderland, England, was convicted of raping the woman on two separate occasions between April 28 and May 21, 2017 at a house in Clydebank.
At the High Court in Glasgow, judge Lord Fairley told first offender Manson: “You were convicted on a single charge of two separate incidents of raping her in April and May 2107 shortly after she gave birth to a child.
“In evidence you said both incidents were consensual.”
Defence counsel Louise Arrol said that Manson continues to maintain his innocence, but added: “He respects the verdict of the jury.”
Manson was placed on the sex offenders’ register.
