A man gave a teenage girl juice spiked with ecstasy before raping her in a flat just months after sexually assaulting another young woman as she slept.
Hisham Awad attacked the 17-year-old on January 23 this year – after he invited her to his flat in Maryhill and claimed others, including a person they both knew, would be there.
However, when the teenager arrived she was alone with the 30-year-old who handed her a glass of pineapple juice before she suddenly felt dizzy and needed to lie down.
Awad then took advantage of his drugged victim at the flat.
The ordeal only ended when police turned up after the girl had earlier managed to text a friend looking for help.
When the victim began to feel dizzy and suspecting she had been drugged she sent a message with the address and asked the friend to contact the police.
Awad was later quizzed, but was initially freed without charge.
But, tests of the juice carton and glass revealed evidence of MDMA – known as ecstasy.
Traces of the class A drug were also found in the girl’s blood.
He is now behind bars after he pled guilty to charges of rape and sex attack at the High Court in Glasgow on Thursday.
The court heard he had carried out an earlier sex attack on August 5, 2020 at another flat in Maryhill.
The 18-year-old victim had been there with others – including Awad – watching TV and listening to music.
She later fell asleep, but awoke to find Awad beside her and taking advantage.
She later told her dad what happened and was described as “sobbing her heart out”.
The kitchen porter has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced in the New Year.
