Man pronounced dead after collapsing on street

A pensioner has been pronounced dead after collapsing on a street in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Dumbarton Road at around 8.35am after reports of a man taking unwell and falling onto the street.

Police confirmed on Wednesday that an 80-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A section of the road between, Thornwood Drive and Exeter Drive, was shut following the incident, however, it has since reopened.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 8.35am on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, police attended Dumbarton Road in Partick, following a report that a man had taken unwell.

“Emergency services attended, and the 80-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
