A man who inserted a sex toy into a dog has admitted sexually assaulting a ten-year-old girl.

Rory Knox targeted the child at a property in Milton of Campsie, East Dunbartonshire, between January 2019 and March 2021.

Knox, of Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute, also made sexualised comments to her about her friends.

He previously admitted forcing a 10cm sex toy into his partner’s dog and was later tagged and put under supervision for a year.

Knox pled guilty to sexually assaulting the girl and admitted directing sexual communication at a child for the purposes of obtaining sexual gratification or to humiliate, distress or alarm her.

The court heard that the girl came forward to police about Knox’s behaviour towards her.

The girl also told officers that Knox made lewd comments after a WhatsApp video call to her friends.

Sentence was deferred pending background reports by Sheriff Tom Hughes who put Knox on the sex offenders register.

Knox had his bail continued in the meantime.
