A man who died following a single-car crash in Glasgow has been named.

Emergency services were called to the city’s Carntyne Road following a collision involving a green Vauxhall Insignia at around 12.35pm on Wednesday.

Nigel Barclay, 59, from Easterhouse, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are continuing to appeal for information as they look to establish the exact circumstances of the crash.

Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “Our thoughts are with Nigel’s family and we are providing support to them as our enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of this crash.

“We would appeal to anyone who was driving on Carntyne Road, Glasgow around the time of crash, who either witnessed it take place or who has any information that may assist. Any driver with dashcam footage is asked to please contact us as soon as possible.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 1607 of December 4, 2024.”
