Police are hunting for a suspect and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

A 55-year-old man was left with serious injuries after an assault took place at a takeaway in Renfrewshire.

At around 11.15pm on Friday, December 9, the man was seriously assaulted at a premises on Causeyside Street.

While the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, they were serious.

Police are now hunting for a suspect described as a white man, aged between 35 and 45.

He was around 6ft tall and of a stocky build with short dark receding hair and stubble.

At the time of the assault he was wearing a navy blue t-shirt and jeans.

Detective constable Malcolm Clark, from Paisley CID, said: “Our enquiries have established that the area was quite busy at the time of the attack and the victim was spoken to by numerous members of the public.

“We are appealing to anyone with information on the incident to contact police on 101, quoting incident 1297 of December 10. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
