Emergency services were called to Argyle Street, near the Sainsbury’s Local store in Trongate, at around 3.10pm on Saturday.

The 42-year-old male victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment after sustaining serious head and eye injuries.

“I am also asking anyone who knows the man described, or the man himself, to get on touch as we believe he can help with our ongoing investigation.

“If you can assist with our enquiries then please call us on 101, quoting incident number 2153 of Saturday, 2 July, 2022, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
