Man left with fractured eye socket in train attack

The victim was on the Balloch to Drumry service with his girlfriend when the assault took place.

A man has been left with a fractured eye socket after being attacked onboard a train.

The victim was on the Balloch to Drumry service with his girlfriend when the assault took place just before 6pm on July 31.

A group of men then boarded the train at Singer Station before one of them punched him in the face, fracturing his eye socket.

The suspect then left the train at Drumry Station.

The man attended hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Officers from the British Transport Police investigating the assault are appealing for witnesses and asked anyone who seen what happened to contact them by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40.
