A man has been left injured after being struck by a weapon on a Glasgow street.

Police are looking to trace two people in connection with the serious assault that took place on the Whitefield Road area of Govan on Thursday night.

The 28-year-old victim was approached by two men at around 10pm before he was attacked and left needing hospital treatment.

Investigating officers are now appealing for information as they look to establish the full circumstances and trace those responsible.

Detective Sergeant Nicol McPherson said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything to contact us.

“We also ask anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage of the area at the time to come forward.”
