A man who died following a three-car crash in East Dunbartonshire, which also left a teen fighting for her life, has been named by police.
Emergency services were called to Auchenhowie Road in Milngavie at around 9.05pm on Sunday, after a Skoda Superb, Audi A4 and a Ford Tourneo Classic were involved in a crash.
The 21-year-old rear seat passenger of the Skoda was pronounced dead at the scene.
He has now been identified as Ryan Wheeler from Maryhill.
A 16-year-old girl, also a rear seat passenger from the Skoda, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where her condition has been described as critical.
The driver of the Skoda, a 19-year-old man, was taken to the same hospital with serious injuries.
He has subsequently been arrested in connection with the crash.
A further two male passengers from the car, aged 23 and 17, sustained minor injuries and have also been arrested.
The 65-year-old female driver of the Audi and her 82-year-old male passenger were uninjured.
The driver of the Ford Tourneo, aged 38, and his passengers aged, 30, 29 and 31 were uninjured.
Constable Martin Alexander said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Ryan.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dash cam footage from Auchenhowie Road from around the time of the crash.
“Information can be passed to police via 101. Please quote reference number 3566 of Sunday, February 26, when calling.”
