Man killed in disturbance at flat named as suspect appears in court over murder

A man who died following an incident at a flat in Ardrossan has been named by police.

Stuart Kennedy, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident on Montgomerie Street on September 10.

Terence Welsh appeared in court on Thursday charged with his murder and the attempted murder of a 24-year-old woman found injured outside the block of flats.

The 40-year-old from Ardrossan made no plea and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear before court again in the next eight days.
