A man has been left injured after being slashed during an attack by three people in a Gourock flat.
Police have appealed for information as they look to trace the trio responsible for the serious assault that took place at an address on Davidson Drive on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 1pm and the 56-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he has been treated for lacerations.
Staff have described his condition as stable.
Officers investigating the attack are checking local CCTV and appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Detective Inspector David Hardie said: “Enquiries are ongoing to identify and trace the three people responsible for this attack.
“Officers have been carrying out enquiries in the local area along with gathering and checking CCTV footage to establish more information on the circumstances.
“This is a busy area,and I would urge anyone there around 1pm on Friday afternoon who witnessed anything suspicious or has information that may assist our investigation.
“I would also ask any drivers with dashcam or people with personal footage to review their recordings and please get in touch if it holds anything relevant.”
