Police are hunting two male suspects who made off toward the Squiggly Bridge in Glasgow.

A man was taken to hospital with injuries to his face following a serious assault in Glasgow.

Officers were alerted to the incident that happened at around 6pm on April 3 on West Street in the Tradeston area of the city.

A 57-year-old man sustained facial injuries in the “unprovoked” attack and taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

Police are hunting two male suspects who made off toward the Squiggly Bridge, walking north on York Street onto Argyle Street.

The males are described as white and aged between 15 to 20 years old.

Both suspects were wearing both wearing dark jackets with their hoods up, dark tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

The force is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

Detective constable Craig Whyte of Glasgow CID said: “This was an unprovoked attack which has left a man seriously injured and we are carrying out extensive enquiries to identify and trace those responsible.

“We are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or thinks they may have seen either of the suspects in the area to contact us.

“I would also appeal to drivers with dashcams to check their footage and get in touch if they have captured anything which could be of significance.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 2865 of Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Alternatively, a call can be made anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
