A man has been stabbed during a targeted attack on an Inverclyde street.
The 25-year-old was knifed in the torso after being approached by two people on Shore Street, Gourock, during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The victim was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital and is in a stable condition.
The suspects are described as around 20-years-old and both were wearing dark clothing.
Detective inspector David Wagstaff said: “Around 12.30am on Wednesday, May 20, officers were called to a serious assault on Shore Street, Gourock, in which a 25-year-old man was stabbed to the torso.
“The incident is believed to be a targeted attack and the victim was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital for treatment where he remains in a stable condition.”
