A man is in hospital after a ‘corrosive substance’ was thrown on him in targeted attack in Glasgow.

The incident took place in the Rathlin Street area at around 3am on Sunday.

The 50-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Police are searching for a man in connection with the attack, which is being described as targeted.

The suspect is described as a white, in his late 30s to early 40s, around 5ft 11in in height and of medium build.

He had dark brown/black hair, which was curly at the top and shorter at the sides.

Detective Constable Mark Garner said: “We believe this was a targeted incident and we are asking anyone who was in the area at the time, saw what happened or heard a disturbance, to get in touch.

“I am also asking anyone who has private CCTV or doorbell footage in the area to review this for anything which may assist our enquiries.”
