Man in hospital after assault and attempted robbery in shopping mall

A man has been taken to hospital after an assault and an attempted robbery in a shopping mall in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to the House of Sher Mall on Wallace Street around 8.20pm on Monday evening.

In footage seen by STV News, a suspect dressed in black enters a store brandishing what appears to be a bladed weapon.

An altercation then follows between the suspect and what appears to be a staff member.

A man was taken to hospital following the incident. His condition is currently unknown.

Police say enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.20pm on Monday, December 1, 2025, we were called to a report of an attempted robbery and an assault at a premises on Wallace Street, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended, and a man was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
