A man is in a critical condition after his car left the road and crashed into neighbouring gardens.
The incident happened at around 11.10am on Bellshill Road in Motherwell on Friday, March 18.
The 63-year-old man had been driving a white Vauxhall Mokka before it left the road near Dalriada Crescent and entered the gardens nearby.
Emergency services attended, with the road closed for around four hours, before reopening at about 3.30pm.
The driver was taken to Wishaw General Hospital where his condition is described as critical.
No-one else was injured as a result of the crash, officers said.
Police Scotland are now appealing for information following the incident.
Sergeant Craig McDonald, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit in Motherwell, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the crash and also anyone who was in the area around the time of the crash with dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation.
“Anyone with information should call 101, quoting incident number 1208 of March 18.”
